You Were Here Were animals really put here for us to eat?
I have no problem with people eating animals. I very much hate how the animals are being hurt and tortured. My brother in law thinks that animals were put here for us to eat, he also says that animals have no souls! If animals will not be going to Heaven then I don't want t either!
Do you believe animals were put here for OUR EVERY USE?
Well, I'm not religious, so my answer might be a bit biased, but here's what I think. Sure, humans may be more intelligent than most other species, but why does that give us the right to abuse, torture, and slaughter them? Yes, humans are omnivorous. But we are the ONLY omnivores who stick their prey in battery cages, clip off their beaks, skin them alive for aesthetic reasons, electrocute them anally, and force them to give birth over and over in order to give milk.
An author of teen horror novels cashes in her talent, purchasing a home in the Chicago suburbs. Surrounded by an increasingly infuriating cast of stuck-up neighbors, Mia and her husband try to take the high road. But with one misadventure after another--including Mac`s ill-conceived carpentry experiments on their 100-year-old house--the couple learns that the greatest test of all might be the limits of their own patience with each other. Relishing outrageous fish-out-of-water conflicts as the energetic young couple clash with conservative suburbanites, Jen Lancaster shows in IF YOU WERE HERE that ironic humor need not be cynical.
The fiction debut of the New York Times bestselling author of My Fair Lazy. Told in the uproariously entertaining voice readers have come to expect from Jen Lancaster, If You Were Here follows Amish-zombie-teen- romance author Mia and her husband Mac (and their pets) through the alternately frustrating, exciting, terrifying-but always funny-process of buying and renovating their first home in the Chicago suburbs that John hughes`s movies made famous. Along their harrowing renovation journey, Mia and Mac get caught up in various wars with the homeowners` association, meet some less-than-friendly neighbors, and are joined by a hilarious cast of supporting characters, including a celebutard ex- landlady. As they struggle to adapt to their new surroundings- with Mac taking on the renovations himself- Mia and Mac will discover if their marriage is strong enough to survive months of DIY renovations.
