Bill Haley His how did Bill Haley and his comets influence the 1950's?
Their style of dress: all matching suits and snazzy jackets made dressing nicely seem just fine. In those days, jeans were not acceptable dress for an outing.
The music was definitely 'hotter' and more acceptable to the young, who loved the catchy rhythms for dancing. I was one of those 'young.'
TV was beginning to show Bill Haley, and the following bands, to a wide audience, and the dancing girls and boys on the stages (audience members sometimes) showed new 'moves' to the TV audience, who then practiced at home and did the dances in the clubs and dance halls (Friday and Sat nights)
Pointed shoes for men were brought in at that time I think - not sure.

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Jack Kevin Haley is an American former professional basketball player. A 610 forward/center from UCLA, Haley spent nine seasons in the National Basketball Association as a member of the Chicago Bulls, New Jersey Nets, Los Angeles Lakers, and San Antonio Spurs. Haley was a member of the 199596 Bulls team which won a leaguerecord 72 games and the NBA Championship, although he only played in one game during the regular season and did not participate in the playoffs. He was mainly known for his friendship with Dennis Rodman, and quickly earned a reputation as Rodmans babysitter. However, Haley bristled at the label, and argued that he had legitimately earned his spot on the team. Following his playing career, Haley served as an assistant coach for the New Jersey Nets and as a television broadcaster for the Lakers, co hosting the Lakers Live pre game show with Bill Macdonald for Fox Sports Net West/Prime Ticket. Haley has also acted, appearing in the films Eddie and Rebound, as well as the music video for Aerosmiths Love in an Elevator. Bill Haley - Rock Around The Clock (1956)
When was the pop/rock genre born.?
I heard it was from the movie 1955 when Bill Haley and His Comets sang "Rock around the clock". Please help me to clear this out. Best motivation/answer gets 10 points =)
Pop rock largely gave way to soft rock in the 1970s. Although there were few acts in the 1970s and 1980s that could strictly be called pop rock, the genre continued in the form of power ballads from hard rock and heavy metal acts, along with the more up-tempo songs from soft-rock acts~The term was first used to describe the early hits of The Beatles & Queen, for an example.
